January 18 Evening

Praise Reports.
Music video to reach the local kids.  to reach some kids who have strayed away and the STN staff was wondering what they could do to reach them.  Plans developed rapidly and now everyone’s amped to work on the project.  Brian, Shawn & Becca.

Guy reached on Ohai St. Without knowing it, Bill & Nate struck up a quick relationship with a guy that the STN staff has tried but couldn’t win over.

Prayer Walking.  Erika & Cyndi did a prayer walk on Ohai St.

Lots said they were outside their comfort zones today when we paired up with the STN interns & staff in small group prayers.

We had lots of fun, even though many had hard and dirty jobs to do.  One group sorted tons (literally) of clothing, fans and misc. stuff in bags. They dealt with mice, roaches and much more. Rosie, Marilee, Patie. And the afternoon warmth felt extra good knowing that back at home they were having subzero temperatures!

Mike was described as Cyndi (Co director of STN) as her new best friend.  She has years of work for him to do!

Brian made a connection with Pete, a professional photographer for about 30 years, who stopped in for awhile today.  Brian got invited to a surfer photography event this Saturday and Brian was asked to use Pete’s $7,000 camera lense.

Josh put in a couple of windows.

Jessi & Kathy organized the tool shed, much to Andy’s absolute delight.

Key phrase today:  “No regrets!”
Listening to other people’s stories today was very important.

Prayer Requests.
Ø    Becca asks for still more prayer for her kids. Her kids are in trouble.
Ø    Jenn’s financial donor had his wife Terry taken to the hospital today.
Ø    Shawn’s neck still hurts real bad.
Ø    Many team members are very tired and need rest.
Ø    We have roosters that started crowing around 3am and didn’t stop.
Ø    Bill’s business partner Sol, cut his finger off at work today.
Ø    Bill’s new connection with the guy in the alley.
Ø    Pray for the kids of Waikiki.
Ø    That all goes well with the Friday video shoot.

  1. Praying for the details! Thanks for posting! So cool to see how God has a specific plan for each and every one of you...and how only you were meant for that job! God does the biggest things when we do the littlest thing...which is being obedient to his calling! AMAZING!

  2. Praying for team and all the prayer request. My our Father hear and react to all of them according to His Will.

From 1 Corn. 12:4... There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

Please know that God will use all your talents and reward you for your servant hearts! Lea

  4. Praying everyday. It looks like God is doing awesome things with all of you. I hope that comfort zones are continuing to break with everyone. You're doing amazing things with these people and reconnecting them. Extract the resources from the people of Wahiawa that will enable them to reconnect even when your away and to continue on a path to constructing a better community. I believe that the Lord has installed these resources in this community and you all are there to find them within the people. Can't wait for more updates!
